Fri 22 & Sat 23 Nov, 6.30pm & 8.30pm. Meet at Farringdon Tube Station, end at Smiths of Smithfield
Smithfield comes to life after dark, as the ancient meat market cranks up alongside the pubs and clubs. With the area on the cusp of major change, follow Tom Bolton on a walk around Smithfield’s many pubs to explore the area’s layered history of trials and executions, riotous summer fairs, buried rivers, lost neighbourhoods, slaughterhouses and markets - ending, of course, with a drink.
Tickets are free - to reserve a place on a specific tour, please book here.
Places will be available on the night if there is capacity, and they will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
The tour lasts roughly 1.5 hours, with an opportunity for a drink on the way. As it will be November, please prepare to be outside in cold or wet weather.
Please note that as we will be entering licensed venues, this tour is for over 18s only, and you may be asked to show ID.
