New CPD session by Fusion Futures

CoLA Southwark

Join this free CPD session to gain ideas and confidence on how to embed creativity, communication and collaboration into your classroom and work with young people . Research shows that these skills are increasingly critical to the 21st-century workplace. Open to any teachers and practitioners working with young people in KS3 – KS5, it’s particularly relevant for teachers/practitioners of arts subjects  (including but not limited to art, design technology, drama, music and media), those with an interest in how they can use artistic practice in their teaching and those delivering careers provision in line with Gatsby Benchmarks.

You’ll try out some fun practical exercises and hear from artists and educators on how they’ve used this approach and the resulting impact it’s had on students.

The session will include a workshop by Natasha Zielazinski on the process of effective collaboration, and a workshop by Adisa The Verbaliser on how he uses words and poetry to engage young people.

The session will conclude with a panel discussion where you will hear from Sarah Vale (teacher at CoLA Islington), Adisa The Verbaliser, Anna White and Allegra Willder (from Hawkins Brown Architecture), where they will discuss their partnership and reflections from the Fusion Futures sessions they led at City of London Academy Islington.
