Get involved

Culture Mile’s first ever summer season of events Play the Mile takes place across the City of London from 18 May until the 25 August, exploring the value of play and creativity in everyday life.

With over 100 days of programmed activity, including 2 new outdoor installations, 10 new site-specific music commissions, 50 free regular performances and activities and a family festival taking place on Sunday 25 August, there are plenty of opportunities to take part, whether as a volunteer or as a performer.

Smithfield Street Party

We're currently on the look out for volunteers to help make Smithfield Street Party a success on Sunday 25 August. Volunteers will be able to get involved with many aspects of the day, including:

  • Stewarding, helping to guide crowds and manage the site's capacity
  • Helping to direct festival visitors to local amenities and attractions through out the site
  • Helping artists and performers set up different activities and performances
  • Helping to give out festival site maps to visitors

Volunteer shifts will be divided in two hour slots: 10am - 12pm, 12pm - 2pm, 2pm - 4pm and 4pm - 6pm

Volunteers are welcome to work as many shifts as they would like with appropriate times for breaks and lunch.
