Housed in a RIBA Award winning building, The Salters’ Company can trace its roots back to 1216, gaining its first Royal Charter in 1394 in order to trade in salt. As one of the Great 12 Livery Companies, The Salters’ Company has both a rich and exciting history in the City and wider London. It continues to have a huge relevance and importance, not just in the city, but nationwide, as it focuses its charitable and philanthropic work on engaging students and families in STEM subjects, primarily chemistry.

The Salters’ Company offers a wide range of  free interactive workshops supporting History, STEM, Art and Design, and so much more for Key Stages 1- 4.

We have a regular and changing family programme which brings the history, stories, and chemistry work of The Salters’ Company to life through immersive learning experiences for all ages, from early years to adults, we have your next family day out covered.

Tours of the Hall are also available upon request and each year we take part in events such as Open House and London Festival of Architecture.
