Culture Mile Learning’s Online Mentoring programme was developed in direct response to the COVID-19 pandemic and its drastic impact on employment opportunities for London’s least advantaged young people.

The programme is designed to develop key employability skills by offering a series of 3 sessions with a relatable and exciting industry professional. There is a growing skills gap in the creative industries and this programme provides young people with insights and opportunities from exciting and successful mentors. Mentees will be matched with mentors and together will explore what their career path has looked like, share insights into their role, and work on activities designed to develop the specific skills needed. Whatever your creative interest, we are able to find a mentor to guide and support you.

We are currently recruiting for new mentees, if you or somebody you know (aged 16-25 years old) has an interest in any type of creative career and has faced socio-economic barriers in your / their life then please follow this link to apply.

Socio-economic barriers include but are not limited to:

  • Currently qualifies or previously has qualified for free school meals
  • The first in immediate family to access further or higher education
  • Currently or previously received any form of government benefit
  • A looked after young person with experience of the care system
  • Have faced prejudice or societal barriers due to class, social background or ethnicity

If you have any questions about the scheme you can contact the programme team Rosemara Mather-Lupton and Viana Gaudino at culturemilelearning@museumoflondon.org.uk
