100 Year 6 and Year 9 pupils from City of London Freemen’s School took part in the Through Our Eyes project. Some of the pupils participated in an online workshop with artist Lauren Veevers where they explored various creative techniques.

Following the workshop, teachers delivered lessons which discussed the purpose of maps and considered different forms and approaches to cartography. With all of this in mind, the pupils then thought about the significant landmarks they wanted to feature in a map of their local area. They used wax and brightly coloured inks, working freely from memory or from photographs, to capture the spirit of the places they love.
